PROFESSOR MD. SALEH UDDIN, Ph.D

Dr Md. Saleh Uddin is a Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics in United International University (UIU), Dhaka. He completed B.A and M.A from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh; M.A in Economics from Thammasat University, Bangkok; and Ph.D. from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Md. Saleh Uddin was the Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet. In addition, he was the Chairman of Department of Economics of University of Chittagong and United International University. Other than his academic responsibilities, he was Vice-President of Bangladesh Economic Association. He was also the President of Chittagong University Economic Association and a member of National Council of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh.

As a consultant, Dr Md. Saleh Uddin has extensive experience working with renowned international and local organizations; such as IFC, World Bank, Ford Foundation, Dhaka and Integrate Development Foundation, Dhaka. He has a number of international publications, and attended several conferences across the globe.

Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin is also actively involved in community and social development activities. He is a founding member of Srijon, a philanthropic Organization, and a life member of CUESA.

PROFESSOR DR. MIZANUR RAHMAN

Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman has joined as Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University on March 20, 2013. Prior to joining the new post, he was a Professor of the University of Dhaka in the Marketing Department. He was also the Treasurer of Dhaka University.

Professor Rahman was born in Comilla, Bangladesh in 1953. He passed S. S. C. from Bibirbazar High School in 1973 and H.S.C. from Comilla Victoria Govt. College in 1975. He obtained his B. Com. (Hons.) & Master Degree in Marketing from the University of Dhaka with outstanding result. After completion of his studies in 1982 at the University of Dhaka, he started his career as a lecturer in the Marketing Department of Rajshashi University. In 1986 he joined as a teacher in the University of Dhaka. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from Alighar Muslim University of India in 1994.

Dr. Rahman was promoted as a Professor of Marketing Department of Dhaka University in 1999. Since then, at least 25 research papers have been published in the International Journals.  Moreover, he has written a number of books on  ‘BAZARJATKARAN’, ‘SNATAK BAZARJATKARAN’, ‘BAZARJATKARAN NITIMALA’ and ‘BAZARJATKARAN (SHAHAJ SANGSKARAN)’ etc. which are well known to the teachers as well as students of Business Administration.

Before assuming the position of VC of Jagannath University, Dr. Rahman was involved in many social organizations. He played a significant role in the Progressive Youth Movement of Bangladesh. He performed administrative activities with dexterity. He was also the chairman of SHEIKH BORHANUDDIN COLLEGE, Council Member of ICMA, Bangladesh, Director ofICB-AMCL, Director of MAKSONS SPINNING, Member of Finance Committee of Bangladesh University Grants Commission and Syndicate Member of Pabna Science & Technology University.  A widely traveled man, Dr. Rahman participated in many national and international seminars on different issues related with Marketing and Management. He visited countries like India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, France, German, United States of America, etc.

PROFESSOR DR. FAKHRUL ALAM

Dr. Fakhrul Alam is a Professor of English at the University of Dhaka and also Honorary Adviser at the Department of English in East West University (EWU), Dhaka. He completed B.A and M.A in English at the University of Dhaka, earned a second Masters degree from Simon Fraser’s University and achieved his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

As of today, Dr. Fakhrul Alam taught at several universities around the globe, including Clemson University, USA as a Fulbright Scholar, and Jadavpur University, India as a Visiting Associate Professor. Besides academic responsibilities, he was also the Director of the Advanced Studies in the Humanities of the University of Dhaka from 1993 to 1996, and Adviser of the Dhaka University Central Library from 2002 to 2003. He is currently a member of the Education Policy Implementation Committee constituted by the Government of Bangladesh.

Dr Fakrul Alam is a Bangladeshi academic, writer, and translator. He writes on literary matters and postcolonial issues and translated works of Jibanananda Das and Rabindranath Tagore into English. He also had published several books, and edited many other books in home and abroad.

PROFESSOR DR. MOHAMMAD MUSA

Dr. Mohammad Musa is a Professor at the School of Business and Economics in United International University (UIU), Dhaka. He completed MSS in Economics at the University of Dhaka, earned his MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka and a second MBA degree and Ph.D. in Management Science from University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA.

Previously, Dr. Musa was the Pro Vice Chancellor of East West University and Director of BBA Program, North South University. He also taught at several other universities, including as a lecturer in IBA, University of Dhaka and as an instructor in Marquette University, USA and University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA.

Besides the academic responsibilities, Dr. Musa is the Research Director of Institute of Business & Economic Research (IBER), United International University for the last two and a half years. He is a former Chairman of Swadesh Investment Management Limited (SIML) and the first Convenor of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association and served the association for more than two years in that capacity. He is also a regular resource person on Stock Market in Bangladesh Public Administration and Training Center (BPATC), Savar, Bangladesh.

Dr. Musa was involved as a consultant for a number of projects funded by DIFT, Katalyst, SEDF & ERG. He also published 20 articles in various academic journals both home and abroad, and a good number of articles in newspapers and periodicals.
